Teaching Spatial Concepts using Ski Areas and GIS

Folks,

 

I wrote a new article entitled "Hit the Slopes!  Investigate Ski Areas with GIS in this Downloadable Lesson" in ArcWatch, on:

The idea is to use 2D and 3D GIS tools to help students think about a subject that is of interest to them - ski areas - in a spatial context.  Considerations include transportation to and from the ski areas, proximity to the Continental Divide, slope, aspect, land status, and more.
