We have annotated several hundred teaching resources cataloged in the National Science Digital Library with spatial concept terms listed below. We have also created a new TeachSpatial collection annotated in the same way. The concept terms were drawn from the U.S.National Science Education Standards (NSES 1996) for topic areas B - Physical Science, C - Life Science, D - Earth and Space Science, as well as from the 1994 U.S. Geography Teaching Standards for grades 9-12. Those standards can be browsed here.

NSDL teaching resources related to "diffusion"

This web based instructional material is part of HyperPhysics. HyperPhysics is an exploration environment for concepts in physics which employs concept maps and other linking strategies to facilitate smooth navigation. For the most part, it is laid out in small segments or "cards", true to its original development in HyperCard. The entire environment is interconnected with thousands of links, reminiscent of a neural network. The bottom bar of each card contains links to major concept maps for divisions of physics, plus a "go back" feature to allow you to retrace the path of an exploration.

Griliches' dissertation, "Hybrid Corn: An Exploration in the Economics of Technological Change" (1957) was an effort to understand the economic processes underlying the diffusion of hybrid corn technology across the United States. The goal of Griliches' dissertation was to demonstrate that technological innovations could be analyzed from an economic perspective. He objected to existing economic theories that treated technological change as an exogenous factor unrelated to the larger economy.
